Natalie Baur, LSW

Hi, I’m Natalie

Psychotherapist at Head First Health.

“In the midst of winter, I found there was within me, an invincible summer.”

Hi! I’m Natalie Baur, a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and Psychotherapist, and I am honored to have the opportunity to work with you! In session, I am focused on being your teammate and collaborator to help guide you through your journey of self healing and self discovery. I am not afraid to throw out the “handbook” and try out different therapeutic methods to find the best one that works for you.

I specialize in treating ADHD, Eating Disorders, Anxiety & Depression by using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), & mindfulness.

Here’s how I address each specific concern clients see me for:

ADHD- I myself have ADHD, so I am able to draw upon personal experience as well as clinical knowledge to offer ways to manage symptoms. This ranges from organization and task management, to just generally being able to work through how we experience our emotions and daily life due to the symptoms.

Eating Disorders- I offer a comprehensive approach when it comes to recovery. Eating disorders are often not just about the food, but can sometimes be a way to manage different hardships in our lives and unpleasant things that are going on. When we work together through recovery, we will explore the purpose that your eating disorder serves, and talk about strategies for overcoming the urges that your ED has.

Anxiety- It is so common, and yet, we may have no idea how to work through it! I approach anxiety with humor, normalizing it, and talking through it to challenge the validity of the thoughts, as well as how to manage the symptoms before they start.

Depression- Depression feels debilitating sometimes- we may not know why we feel the way we do, or we may have a reason as to why we feel so blah. Both are valid. My approach I utilize is to first get a sense of what that looks like for you, and then provide psychoeducation and find strategies to combat depression that work best for you.

Throughout the years this has looked like:
